Harrow Borough needed a stoppage-time equaliser to end a run of seven straight league defeats in a 2-2 draw with Worthing.

The Boro had even led shortly after half-time when Shaun Preddie turned in Kurtis Cumberbatch's corner.

But Alfie Young levelled five minutes later when reacting quickest to a Melvin Minter save.

It looked like more disappointment would follow when substitute Jimmy Wild put the hosts in front late on, but Ryan Moss finally earned the Boro a point when he got a sweet strike on a 97th-minute free-kick.

Harrow kept an unchanged side from the one which narrowly lost at Staines in midweek, Worthing began the better but Bajram Pashaj was the first to register a shot which whistled wide for the visitors.

He forced a save with his next effort, before Melvin Minter was called into action for the first time to tip a shot over.

After the break, Harrow scored from their first attack when Cumberbatch's corner was deflected towards Preddie at the far post, and he took a touch before firing home.

But their lead would be very shortlived. Preddie was booked for a foul just outside his own box, and the resulting free-kick was well-saved but the rebound turned in by Young.

This was enough to give the league's basement club real belief, and they missed a number of chances to take the lead, although Michael Bryan did likewise when his shot struck the outside of the post.

When Worthing did strike again, it came from another free-kick, which was crossed in for Wild to climb above Minter and head home.

Tayo Davies-Coker was injured in a collision with his goalkeeper during that move, and was stretched off after nine minutes’ attention with a potentially serious injury.

A patched-up Harrow searched for an equaliser and found it in the sixth of 13 minutes of injury time, when – from yet another set-piece – Moss fired home Bryan’s lay-off through a crowded box to seal a late point.
