Middlesex lost to Sri Lanka by four wickets in their three-day match.
Andrew Strauss scored 151 in the first innings as Middlesex hit 360 for eight but they were then all out for 161.
Sri Lanka were set 213 to win and they reached the target for the loss of six wickets just before the end.
