Wealdstone and Bury Town shared the points after a goalless draw at the St George's Stadium on Saturday.
The early exhanges were even between the sides but the Stones soon began to press and take a foothold on the game.
Man-of-the-match Kieron Forbes headed the attack as the hosts looked to break down an in-form Bury defence.
A breakthrough appeared to be iminent on 41 minutes as the Stones were awarded a penalty but Danny Burnell's spot kick was dealt with by Bury keeper Marcus Garnham as he produced an excellent save.
The Stones continued to dominate the proceedings as Peter Dean and Forbes launched numerous strikes at the Bury goal.
The home side's best chance came from Scott Fitzgerald as his shot was blocked by Garnham.
The tables turned towards the latter stages of the second half as Bury began to take charge after a string of changes from both sides.
Former Ipswich and Crystal Palace striker James Scrowcroft was brought on for the Bury Town side, providing an experienced base for some penetrating runs into the Wealdstone defence.
Despite the result the Stones moved up a place in the table, although manager Gordon Bartlett will be looking for an improvement from his players at Billericay Town tomorrow night.
