Pinner RFC held their awards ceremony on Friday, celebrating a season which saw the first team break a club record by winning each of their 21 matches.

Speaking at the ceremony, club life president David Hiles reveaked he had looked through the records of the club and could not find another season in their history where the team had achieved such a feat.

In 21 victories Pinner scored 638 points, conceding just 114, and won not only the Middlesex Merit Table Division Five but the Merit Table Vase too, described by Hiles as a “unique achievement”.

He also paid tribute to the hard work of coach Tony Mullins and captain Aaron Nicholas.

Speaking at the dinner, held at Hatch End Club House, Nicholas said: “What a pleasure it has been to lead such a team. We now have a group of young players who can help the team develop into a very successful squad.”

In attendance were around 50 players, officials and supporters. A number of awards were handed out, including Player of the Season for Andrew Alexander, Best Newcomer for Niall Curran and Most Improved Player for John Petrella.
