Wealdstone have made their sixth new signing of the summer by bringing in versatile midfielder Adam Martin.

After his release from Watford, he joined Berkhamsted Town where he became the Ryman League's youngest ever captain aged just 17.

The 24-year-old then signed for Hemel Hempstead Town, where he narrowly missed out on promotion via the playoffs. In the following season he captained the club aged 19, and was taken on trial by Gillingham.

He joined Slough on loan in April 2010, scoring two goals in nine games as the Rebels lost out in the playoff final against Chesham United.

After leaving Hemel he signed for Conference South side St Albans for an undisclosed fee and after a further spell at Slough the combative Martin went on to join Irish side Bohemians, taking up the opportunity of full-time professional football. He played in the Europa League first qualifying round, netting the Bohs only goal in the defeat by Icelandic club Thór.

Stones Manager Gordon Bartlett said: "They say patience is a virtue and I am delighted Adam has decided to sign. It has taken me six years to sign him after he made his debut as a youngster against Watford in a pre season game before deciding to go to Hemel.

"He is six foot plus with a good engine and he adds further flexibility to the squad because he is comfortable in either a holding or attacking midfield role."
