Young footballers built up their teamwork and communication skills in a scheme to tackle gang culture.

Charities London Football Journeys and the QPR in the Community Trust held an inter-community football exchange on Saturday, April 25 at Canons High School, in Shaldon Road, Edgware.

Young people aged 13 to 14 from Deptford Green School in Lewisham and Ark Academy in Brent travelled to Canons High School to take part in football activities to build teamwork and communication.

The students also got the opportunity to meet young people from different communities, break down barriers and develop positive leadership skills.

The London Football Journey charity’s film and football activities start with youth groups creating a short film about their area, identity and love of football.

These films are then shared with other groups before they come together for the football exchanges.
