Brave hospice supporters are encouraging friends and family to take a dive for charity.

Supporters of St Luke’s Hospice, in Kenton Road, Harrow, have signed up to plunge 10,000 feet in a sky dive to raise money for the charity.

After last year’s dive raised £49,000, the team of thrill-seekers are hoping to recruit even more daredevils for this April’s event.

Mary Foley, who will be facing her fears for St Luke’s, said: “This will be a real challenge for me as I have a fear of heights but having successfully completed the St Luke's abseil last year, I feel ready to take on a bigger challenge with some trepidation but also great excitement.

“When I discovered that I could do this while supporting St Luke’s I felt this was the perfect opportunity, as the hospice supported my father with palliative care during his final weeks and also gave me bereavement support following his death.”

The deadline to register for St Luke’s skydive is Monday, February 16. A non-refundable deposit of £50 applies, but for those who raise £400 through sponsorship will receive the cost of the skydive for free.
