Students across the borough are celebrating today after getting their A-Level results.

Teenagers at schools and colleges in Harrow had a nervous wait last night to find out if all their hard work had paid off to get the results needed to secure places at university or in training.

At the Harrow Weald campus of Harrow College hundreds of pupils turned up at 9am to find out how they had done in their summer exams.

Usman Sattar, 20, received an A and two Bs and will be going on to study architecture at Oxford Brookes University in September.

He said: “I was so nervous about today. I just didn’t know what was going to happen. Once I got my results and I knew I was in, I was so happy.

“At the moment I am trying to let it all sink in and I have to say most of all I am relieved I got what I needed.

“I’m really looking forward to university now and what the future will bring. I really would like to thank Harrow College and the support from all the teachers."

Another happy student was Mateos Grigorian, 19, who also received an A and two Bs and will be going to Loughborough University to study economics and politics.

He said: “I’m really chuffed with my results and I’m really happy I got into my university. My plan now is to enjoy the moment and celebrate with my friends and family.

“The staff at Harrow College have been great. They let you get on with your course but if you need help then they are there to support you.”

Sue Wilson head of science, maths and technology at the college, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the results of our students.

"Our aim is not just to prepare them for exams and university but also to prepare them for the real world and employment.

“All the hard work has really paid off not only from the students but also from the staff.”
