A BREAST cancer survivor is going on a mountain trek to raise money for the Harrow hospital that treated her.

Suzanne Peacock is looking for sponsors for her five-day hike through the Andes, in Peru, the longest mountain range in South America, in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign.

Ms Peacock found out she had breast cancer while travelling in Australia as part of a round-the-world trip and the next leg of her holiday was supposed to be South America but she had to abandon the tour to have treatment.

She said: "I could have had the operation in Australia, and I did consider it, but in the end I decided to come back here for treatment - I'm so glad I did. I just think The Royal Marsden is amazing. It's tremendous and I can't praise it and the staff highly enough."

She will now get the chance to finish her round the world tour and will do the walk in ten hour stretches at heights of up to 4,400 metres.

Ms Peacock is flying to Peru tomorrow (Friday 28 September) and anyone who wants to support Ms Peackock can give money by going to www.justgiving.com/suzannepeacock or by contacting the Royal Marsden fundraising team on 020 8770 0279 and quoting the reference Suzanne Peacock'.
