AN alternative version of a suggestion box was unveiled by the Metropolitan Police in Rayners Lane on Thursday, August 2.

The Met Box, which will be placed in the Zoroastrian Centre, in Alexandra Avenue, gives people the chance to drop in comment cards telling police about anti-social behaviour and crime in the borough.

Kerman Munshi, of the Zoroastrian Centre, said: "We are very happy to have the Met Box at our centre. This will be a great advantage to our members and will improve the link with our police.

"We meet once or twice a week here with congregations often in excess of 500 people."

Sgt Sonny Kalar, Met Box project manager, said: "This pilot is all about reaching all sectors of the community and encouraging the flow of information between the community and local police."

"I am delighted that the Zoroastrian Centre has agreed to have a Met Box."

The Met Box project was developed by West Harrow Safer Neighbourhood police officer John Duggan. Similar boxes have been placed in churches, medical centres and schools.
