A community group that campaigned to save a library from closure has been told it cannot appeal against a decision to reject its business plan.
The Bob Lawrence Library campaign team has been fighting to save the library, in Mollison Way, Edgware, since closure plans were announced, but was recently told its business plan – which was submitted in the hope of turning the library into a community-run venture – had been rejected by Harrow Council.
Campaigners hoped to appeal against the decision, but have now been told there is no appeals process.
The library is now due to close for good at 5pm on Saturday, June 13.
The council is continuing to work with campaigners fighting to save the North Harrow library.
