A hospital radio station is celebrating after raising £2,000 during December.

Radio Northwick Park raised the money by holding a number of festive fundraisers in the community.

They raised more than £400 with a performance at the switching on of Harrow’s Christmas lights.

This was followed by fundraising events at Sainsbury's in Kenton and two weekends of performing Christmas songs for shoppers at Debenhams.

The money will go towards the running of the station, which also arranges for volunteers to visit patients at Northwick Park Hospital.

Chairman of Radio Northwick Park, Matt Blank, said: “I cannot thank the people of Harrow enough for all the kindness they have shown us throughout December and indeed the whole year.

“Their gratitude and support has been overwhelming.

“Not only have their kind donations been forthcoming, but it’s been wonderful to chat with the public and hear so many positive experiences they had of Radio Northwick Park during their stay in hospital.”
