Both the Jubilee and Metropolitan Tube lines are expected to be “exceptionally busy” today because of Olympic events.

Transport for London (TfL) said that with badminton matches taking place at Wembley Arena for most of the day, and the first weekday evening football match at Wembley Stadium, both lines would suffer from heavy congestion.

Team GB’s women take on Brazil at Wembley Stadium at 7.45pm, two days after fans complained of huge queues at the venue when tills stopped working, with some reporting that stalls ran out of food.

TfL said the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines will be exceptionally busy from 5pm to 7.30pm between central London and Wembley, and that Baker Street, King's Cross and Green Park stations are expected to be very busy in the evening peak with spectators going to Wembley.

It advised commuters to avoid the stations if possible.
