The new Mayor of Harrow was announced last night as Councillor Nizam Ismail.
He was elected at the council’s annual meeting, and officially appointed at the mayor making ceremony last night.
Cllr Ismail, who has been a Labour councillor serving Queensbury ward since 2002, is also a governor for Glebe, Whitchurch and Stag Lane Schools.
Cllr Ismail and the mayoress, his wife Zarafaran, announced that their chosen charity for the year is AGE UK Harrow.
