A 25-year-old has been sentenced to four years’ imprisonment for charges including the assault of a woman in Barnet last year, which caused the fracture of her eye socket.

Khan Barrow, of St Neots Close, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, was sentenced at Wood Green County Court on Friday, January 20.

He was found guilty of Grievous Bodily Harm and Possession, having previously pleaded guilty to Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug Class A – Cocaine and was sentenced to two years on each count to run consecutively.

The assault occurred on Sunday, August 14, 2011, the victim attended Barrow’s girl friend's address in Barnet after a night out with friends.

During a disagreement, Barrow struck the victim, who fell to the ground where he proceeded to kick her, causing a fracture to the left eye socket, bruising, bleeding and swelling so severe that her left eye was completely closed.

A male friend helped the victim to a nearby address where they called for police help and Barrow was arrested on the scene.
