HARROW Council has reported business as usual today with reports of no disturbances last night as police say they don’t expect any trouble at the weekend.

A joint statement was released from Michael Lockwood, the council’s chief executive, the council’s leader, Councillor Bill Stephenson and Chief Superintendent Dal Babu, Borough Commander of Harrow Police.

The statement said: “It was business as usual as the cinema remained open and shops closed at their usual times.

“Once again more than 280 police officers were on duty supported by Harrow Council’s youth workers, who took part in regular patrols across the borough.

“Police are not expecting any problems over the weekend. However, the council and police will continue to monitor the situation and remain well prepared.

“Again, we are asking parents to make sure they know where their children are. Parents and guardians have a responsibility to keep them out of harm’s way.

“If any incidents were to take place they will be thoroughly investigated and anyone found guilty of disorder will be dealt with severely.”
