The writer of the electoral reform letter (‘Current system is quite clear’, Your Views, April 14) need not fear he will have to vote for more than one candidate. Under AV there is no such obligation.
Unlike the present system, AV offers the opportunity to add one or more further selections, in order of preference.
But if your correspondent finds considering the merits of more than one candidate too challenging, he would be entitled to ignore that opportunity and continue to make his mark in just one box.
Personally, I think what we really need is political reform. Not a reform of the way we vote, but reform of the way politicians behave. Starting with telling the whole truth.
The writer of least week’s misleading letter, Jeremy Zeid, wasn't once a politician himself was he?
