A TUBE stalker who subjected his victim to a “very frightening” ordeal has been slapped with an indefinite restraining order.

Paul Stark, 22, of St Peter's Close, Eastcote, trailed the 26-year-old as she travelled to work from Wembley Park numerous times, staring at her in the carriage and even following her into a shop.

He was eventually arrested after a string of chilling incidents and hauled before Brent Magistrates Court, where he was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation and banned from going within 50 metres of his victim.

PC Paul Franklin, the investigating officer, said: “CCTV evidence, which showed Stark purposefully following the victim across platforms and onto trains, disproved his claim that they had just seen each other many times by coincidence.

“Stark’s behaviour was no doubt very frightening for the victim, who thought she had seen the last of him a few years ago.

“She will now no longer have to worry about him thanks to the restraining order."

He regularly stalked his victim as she travelled to work in Central London in 2008 and she only evaded him after changing her route.

But the stalking started again on Monday, November 29, last year, when she got off at Wembley Park on her way home to see him staring back at her from one of the carriages.

Four days later, he was back and this time he followed her onto the train, staring at her throughout the journey and following her into a shop in Farringdon after she got off.

He trailed her again the following Thursday and when she saw him standing near her on Tuesday, January 25, she called the police.

He was arrested at Wembley Park station by officers from the British Transport Police (BTP).

He was given the restraining order on Wednesday, April 27.
