LABOUR'S recently selected candidate for London mayor is due to take part in a mobility scooter rally, a sponsor confirmed.

Ken Livingstone, who held the top job at City Hall until he lost to Conservative Boris Johnson in 2008, will join the rally held on the International Day for Older People on Friday.

The event will start at Mobiblity World, in Station Road, before heading down to South Harrow and back up to the town centre.

Money raised will go to Age Concern Harrow.

Poolin Shah, managing director of Mobility World, who is sponsoring the event, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Ken Livingstone to the event as he has demonstrated a keen interest in helping the less able.

“Daily independence is such a crucial facet of everyone’s life and we hope this challenge raises the awareness that this is still possible even if people are living with restricted mobility.”
