A 42-YEAR-OLD man will face magistrates accused of urinating on the Wealdstone war memorial.
Phillip Shaw, unemployed, of Francis Road, Harrow, was charged with a public order offence after it was alleged he relieved himself on the monument, in High Street, at around 11.30am on Friday.
The memorial, a clock tower at the junction with Spencer Road, holds the names of 249 soldiers from the area who died in World War One.
It was unveiled on November 11, Armistice Day, in 1923 and drew national attention in 2007 when two soldiers shot at dawn during the war were honoured there for the first time after being pardoned.
