A COLLEGE headmistress who handed out bogus qualifications "like confetti" to students in Wealdstone is facing jail this morning.

Dr Roselle Antoine's remarkable fall from grace will be completed today as she appears at Southwark Crown Court to be sentenced for a host of fraud and immigration charges.

Once hailed as a "wonder woman" on ITV's This Morning and awarded an MBE for services to education, Antoine duped foreign students into paying expensive tuition fees at TCS Tutorial College, in Palmerston Road.

However, it soon became clear the qualifications were bogus and worth nothing, let alone the tuition fees of up to £1,350 a year she had been charging students.

The 54-year-old was also found guilty of illegally giving immigration advice to students coming to her college.

She initially admitted the charges against her in 2008, but frustrated the courts by changing her plea on the eve of being sentenced, forcing a full criminal trial.

Jurors at Southwark Crown Court in March unanimously convicted her of the crimes, committed between September 2001 and January 2007.

Antoine, who has a house in Greenford as well as in Blairhead Drive, Watford, was found guilty of eight counts of providing immigration services when not qualified between September 2001 and March, 2004.

She was also convicted of four counts of knowingly making a false statement between September 2001 and January 2007.
