AFTER three away defeats, any victory is welcome, so Wealdstone must be happy with the three points from this game, even if the style they were achieved wasn't pretty.

Most of the attempts at goal from both sides came from long range as defences ruled, especially during a particularly quiet first half.

In this, Richard Jolly tested visiting keeper Placid from 20 yards and Marvin Morgan failed to get any real power on a header when well placed.

The best chance of the 45 minutes fell to Forest's Luke Majid. Faced with only Andy Carter he fired high and wide and an excellent opportunity to score was missed.

This chance occurred because the Stones defence was caught ball-watching which happened again a little later and Kim Karlsen's shot that followed hit Billy Amarteifio, standing on the line, in the stomach and was cleared.

Stones had a lot more purpose about them after the break but again chances were few. Twice Dave Ryan long shots tested Placid, another from Gary Burrell did the same.

Carter was largely a spectator in this half, although he had to be alert when Rantala tried his luck from the half way line.

The goal, from Jolly, came ten minutes from time. Amarteifio retrieved an overhit corner and laid the ball back for Matt Kidson to send over a perfect cross to the far post. Jolly's head did the rest.

This angered the visitors and, in a fiesty finish, both Guei and Tickner from Forest were dismissed followi
