THREE men robbed a Rayners Lane jewellers, beating up an employee before smashing the front window on Saturday.
The trio burst into Sangaman Jewellers dragging the man, in his 50s, into a back room where he was repeatedly kicked and punched, leaving him with cuts and bruises to his head, back and legs.
He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged following treatment after the robbery, at around 5.40pm on Saturday.
One robber grabbed a woman in her 20s, taking her to another backroom where she was forced to wait helplessly while the group snatched a large quantity of jewellery and fled by smashing through the front window.
The trio ran along Rayners Lane to Village Way where a getaway driver in a blue, Volvo 440 with a K registration plate was waiting for them.
They escaped down Village Way East, turning left onto Park Road.
Police believe all four are in their 20s. No arrests have been made.
