A MAN who escaped from a secure mental health unit in Harrow-on-the Hill on Monday is a danger to the public, the police have warned.

David Christian Tudor, 37, and two other men got out of the private Bowden House Clinic in London Road following a disturbance at 7pm. Harrow police caught two of them after a search of the area and returned them to the unit.

But Tudor, who was born in Birmingham and has connections in Manchester, Oldham and south London, is still at large. He was last seen at Harrow-on-the-Hill Underground station, heading towards central London.

Detective Chief Inspector Julian Worker said that Tudor was detained at the unit after being sectioned under the Mental Health Act, but would not say what he had done to merit this treatment.

"Enquiries have been made with the staff who were treating him at the clinic and we understand that he should be taking medication regularly to control his condition," DCI Worker said.

"They described him as being potentially of serious danger to the public. If any member of the public sees this individual, please do not approach him. Ring 999 and let us deal with him."

Harrow police are liaising with their colleagues in Greater Manchester and with the British Transport police in the hunt for Tudor.

Tudor is white, 6ft4, and well-built, with greyeyes. He has a scar over his left eyebrow and tattoos on his right arm. When he was last seen he was wearing a green jumper, black trousers and brown trainers.
