A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing.

Police were called at around 6:25am yesterday (July 8) to Pinner Road, North Harrow, where a man was found with knife injuries.

London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance Service attended the incident. Despite their best efforts, the victim, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A crime scene was put in place and Pinner Road was blocked both ways while officers looked for evidence.

A murder investigation was launched into the victim's death with helicopters hovering over the region in search of suspects.

A spokesperson for Met Police has now said that a man, aged in his 20s, has since been arrested on Saturday afternoon in relation to the stabbing.

Pinner Road continues to be closed today between Surrey Road and Station Road. A detour is still in operation for bus routes 183, H18 and H19.

North Harrow library posted on Twitter that it has been shut due to the incident.

Local MP Gareth Thomas offered his condolences to the victim's family.

Enquiries are still ongoing to inform the victim’s next of kin.
