THE funeral of a Harrow Councillor is taking place today.
Councillor Dhirajlal Lavingia, 74, known to friends as Dhirubhai, died on Tuesday, January 22, from a chest infection, after years of dedicated service to the local community.
A devoted Hindu, he was one of the founder members of the Harrow Asian Elders Group, and represented Marlborough ward at Harrow Council since 2002 as a Labour Party member.
His funeral is being held at 12pm today, at Hendon Crematorium Centre, in Holders Hill Road, Mill Hill.
