THE Land Registry is proceeding with its plans to shut its office in Harrow, despite union protests.
The office, in Lyon Road, Harrow, will not receive any more applications after April, when the work diverted to centres in Swansea, Croydon and Stevenage.
The Public and Commercial Services Union fears the building will sold to developers when it closes, leading to the loss of thousands of jobs.
It also says the closure, planned for 2010, will mean fewer ethnic minority staff will be working for the Land Registry.
