More than half-a-million people across the UK have taken part in the world’s biggest charity swimathon over 31 years, raising over £49 million for a cancer charity.
Harrow Leisure Centre and Hatch End Swimming Pool hosted the charity swim on the weekend of April 27 to 29, aimed at raising money for Cancer Research and Marie Curie.
The event, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Harrow Council, saw nearly 60 swimmers from the Harrow area swimming a 400m, 1.5k, 2.5k or 5k challenges, individually or as part of a team.
Everyone Active contract manager John Sewell, said: “We were delighted to see so many people take to the water across Harrow.
“There was a great atmosphere with lots of family and friends cheering the swimmers on, and I would like to congratulate all those who trained so hard to complete their challenge.”
Final fundraising totals will be released later in the year.
