A seven-year-old girl had 19-inches of her locks chopped off after she “felt sorry” for other children who had lost their hair due to cancer.

Parisha Halai, from Harrow, was inspired to make a wig out of her hair and donate it to Little Princess Trust after seeing pictures of children without hair on the internet.

She also managed to raise £1,500 for the charity too.

Parisha said: “I have been blessed with long hair and I really do love my hair very much. “However there are children out there suffering from cancer and have lost all their hair during their treatment.

“I decided to cut my hair so that a long lovely wig could be made from it.”

During the haircut, she admits she felt “nervous” but knowing she was doing a good deed helped give her more courage.

She said: “As I walked into the salon, I was feeling a bit nervous but then I remembered all the supportive words from people and became courageous.

“As my hair was being cut, I felt good remembering that my hair will be used to give a little girl her dignity back.

“With a big smile on my face I decided to cut off 19inches so one girl out there can have a long wig.

“I love my very short hair and I am proud of myself for what I gave.”
