Storm Stella which brought freezing temperatures to the east coast of America is set to hit the UK by Friday.
The gigantic storm sparked a state of emergency in New York, bringing sub-zero conditions and 50mph gales.

And the Met Office has warned that the storm will arrive on UK shores in the run up to the weekend, although its effect would be “massively reduced” as it crosses the Atlantic.
The weather over the weekend has been described as “changeable” with some rain brought by the remnants of the storm, and there will be strong winds at times.
However it is not believed that it will cause widespread damage like that caused by Storm Doris last month.
