We could see the arrival of the fourth storm of the year this weekend – the rather frumpy sounding Storm Doris.
The Met Office has already issued a yellow weather warning for Friday, with powerful gusts of up to 80mph forecast for coastal areas, and 60-70mph further inland.
The worst of the winds are predicted to hit the south east of England early on Friday, with the Environment Agency issuing 42 flood alerts as gales and high tides look set to batter the coast.
London is not expected to bear the full brunt of the storm, however strengthening winds will bring rain later in the day on Friday. It will feel colder than the 10C temperatures forecast because of the brisk breeze.
Saturday and Sunday are looking no less uncertain, with further risks of wind and rain forecast. There should be some drier, brighter interludes although they are likely to be short-lived.
