Campaigners lobbying for better transport access in Harrow will be pleased to hear their concerns were discussed with the deputy mayor for transport when she visited the borough on Friday.
Step free access at Harrow-on-the-Hill station was on the top of the agenda when Val Shawcross met with council leader Sachin Shah and Greater London Authority member Navin Shah.
She saw the daily issues faced by public transport users, with Harrow-on-the-Hill and Stanmore stations acting as the focal point of her visit.
The group also discussed improving the bus station and possibilities for better bus routes from the town centre.
Councillor Shah said: “When we ask residents about transport improvements, the biggest issue is the lack of step free access.
“As we build a better Harrow, it is absolutely crucial that we have the right transport infrastructure in place for both our residents and visitors – most importantly vulnerable people who need better access.
“I’d like to thank Val for coming to Harrow to see for herself some of the issues our residents face. I hope that these are raised at City Hall so that a decision can be made.”
