A 28-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for stealing hundreds of thousands of pounds from areas across north London.

In the summer of 2015, the Met's Flying Squad officers launched an investigation into a series of cash in transit robberies.

Ashley Waterman, of Silverdale Close, Northolt was one of five men arrested for armed robberies

A total of around £240,000 was stolen across 15 robberies.

Waterman pleading guilty to seven counts of conspiracy to rob between May 24 and October 31, 2015, as well as possession of an imitation firearm on three occasions.

He was jailed for 15 years and eight months.

The first of his seven offences took place outside the Morrison's store in Stamford Hill on July 9.

He was also involved in robberies in Enfield on September 4, in Haringey on September 30, and Southbury Leisure Park in Enfield on October 22.

Marsden, 31, of Irthlingborough north England, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob, and was also found guilty of possession of an imitation firearm.

He was jailed for 14 years.

Paul Hinge, 28, of Tottenham pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob, relating to the same robbery on September 17.

He was sentenced to four years and four months' imprisonment.

Michael Palmer, 24, also of Tottenham, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob, relating to the robbery in Southwark.

He was sentenced on 12 September to 2 years and 10 months' imprisonment.

Sheldon Hussey, 26, of Tottenham pleaded guilty to robbery at Enfield.

He was sentenced on 12 September to 2 years and 10 months' imprisonment.
