Of all the auditions in this year's X Factor show, Honey G’s has been the most memorable.

The 35-year-old ‘urban artist’ – hailing from ‘North Weezy’ (that’s Harrow to you and me) – made it through to bootcamp during the first hsow, despite leaving Simon Cowell horrified by her rendition of Missy Elliott’s Work It.

The privately educated recruitment consultant, whose lewd X Factor rap has earned her a legion of admirers, insists "there is nothing fake about me".

The artist's performance, in which she grabbed her crotch as she invited listeners to "let me search it", divided judges.

Simon Cowell could barely bring himself to look but the others put her through to bootcamp, with Sharon Osbourne displaying her street credentials as she revelled in the routine.

The turn won her a burgeoning fan base on Twitter, but had some speculating whether she was for real or a parody act.

However, Anna Georgette Gilford has insisted she was 100 per cent genuine.

"There is nothing fake about me. I just say middle finger to my haters. I’m stepping up to the streets with the material that I’m writing," she told the Mirror.

The recording artist, who is also a DJ and producer, claimed she brought a breath of fresh air to the show, insisting it was time for judges to "choose someone who is making innovations".
