A pub is inviting musicians to take part in a two-day music festival over the Easter weekend.

The Harrow pub, in Station Road, Harrow, will showcase twenty hours of live music on Saturday and Sunday, featuring established and up and coming bands from across the borough to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and St Luke’s Hospice.

Starting each day at 4pm and continuing until 2am, bands or artists will each perform a 45-minute set.

Acoustic acts, including Wales’ Simon Davies and musicians Dan Brown and Donna Blackburn, will perform on Saturday alongside a display from The McCarthy O'Rourke School of Irish dancing.

On Sunday evening, Westminster University students will be taking part in an open mic mashup, co-ordinated by Rickie Bellfield.

As well as performers giving their time for free, the pub’s staff members have offered to donate all their tips throughout the event to the charities.

Raffles will also take place on both days with prizes donated Harrow businesses and an auction of sporting memorabilia - including an England rugby shirt, signed by the current team, an Arsenal pendant signed by Thierry Henry, plus a whole host of Tottenham Hotspur signed merchandise - will take place on Sunday evening.

Throughout both days there will be face-painting for children, an Easter egg hunt, free mini eggs for younger guests and cupcake stall with goodies donated by Emma’s Blush Bakery, and an Easter-themed quiz will take place on April 6.

General manager Fiona Corkery said: “The Harrow opened just before Christmas and so we decided that Easter weekend would be the perfect time to host a music festival and to welcome customers to visit the pub, relax over the long weekend and enjoy fantastic music from local bands.

“It is the ideal opportunity to give new local acts the chance to showcase their talent, whilst raising money for two brilliant causes.”
