Hundreds of small businesses and budding entrepreneurs watched on as four finalists battled it out in Harrow’s Business Den.

Finalists gave presentations on their business plans and answered questions from a panel of leading business experts including Andy Doman of Hendon Business Centre, entrepreneur Priti Vyas, Cath Goodall of the Department of Business and Innovation and Tom Cocklin from Stanmore Business and Innovation Centre.

This year’s winner was A Slice of Nice, a bespoke cake company set up three years ago in the kitchen of Donna Banfield, who impressed the judges with her ideas and dedication.

A Slice of Nice will now receive package of business support from Stanmore Business and Innovation Centre which includes mentoring, business training and free publicity.

Donna Banfield said: “I am delighted to be winner of this year’s business event. The package of support that I will now receive will help me to take my company to the next tier.

“The next year is going to be a really exciting time for me and ‘A Slice of Nice Cake’. The hard work starts here and I am really looking forward to working with Stanmore Business and Innovation Centre.”
