Changes at a park mean that dog walkers and picnicking families will need a smart phone to pay for car parking.

Brent Council has announced changes to the way users of Northwick Park pay to park their car, requiring people to book their spaces as they go on their dog walk or family outing.

Anyone who wants to use the car park, which has a capacity of 96 cars, during the week will now have to register with cashless online service RingGo and book their car parking space at the Brent car park.

The car park will be free for the first three hours with no return within two hours, and a charge of £7.50 will be payable from that point.

But users must be sure they 'book' they space in the car park when they arrive using RingGo.

Weekends will remain unchanged and free parking will be available without the need to book.

Bookings can made solely through www.myringgo.co.uk or the mobile app which is free to download or call 0203 046 0010.

Councillor George Crane, Lead Member for Environment at Brent Council said: "Demand for car parking at Northwick Park is very high and often, those wishing to make use of the council's sporting facilities, are unable to find a space. The changes are designed to manage demand.

"We hope that the booking system will ensure those who wish to use the car park to make sure of the Council's sporting facilities are able to do so".
