Mothers who need help breastfeeding can receive the support of newly trained volunteers.
Voluntary members of Breastfeeding in Harrow have received certificates after completing their three-month training programme.
The group is made up of volunteers who use their own time to support new mothers in Harrow at Northwick Park hospital, drop in groups at the Children's Centres as well as supporting them through home visits.
After its launch in 2006, they now have around 40 volunteers offering support to mothers and midwives who don't always have to time to spend with mothers in helping with breastfeeding.
Margaret Al Qaruty, a volunteer, said: “It is a vital service to mothers who need a little support at such a crucial time in their child’s life, so it’s great that the scheme is still running after so many years.”
