A dog owner was left heartbroken after thieves broke into his house and stole his beloved pet.

Jamie Green’s Chow Chow puppy Misiu was stolen from his Stanmore home last week.

The 29-year-old, who only bought the £1,600 puppy six weeks ago as a gift for his girlfriend, believes the burglars were deliberately targeting designer breeds.

He said: “I am trying to be strong and hold it together for my girlfriend’s sake. It’s been a massive shock and now we’re just trying to move forward.

“It has been really tough. It feels like I have lost a child and I feel like I’m grieving. Every time I see another dog out and about I am reminded of him.

“It’s hard because with the online campaign I am constantly reminded of him and the break in. Since it happened I haven’t been able to sleep properly and I don’t feel secure in my home.

“What has been really lovely has been the support from the local area and people around the world on social media.

“Seeing the nice comments of support really fill me with joy. I have been told about possible sightings of Misiu and I get my hopes up.”

Mr Green says he has been checking the web regularly to see is his beloved pooch has been put up for sale anywhere else.
