A pair of ambulance volunteers have been nominated for their work as emergency first responders.
Kieran Mahon, 40, and John Jeal, 56, both from Harrow, are part of the volunteer Community First Responder (CFR) scheme, a partnership between St John Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service.
Both have been nominated for the Harrow's Heroes Awards for their voluntary service to the community.
St John Ambulance community projects manager John Newman said: "I am delighted Kieran and John have been nominated for this award.
"The pair established the Harrow CFR Unit in 2009 and have developed it, recruiting and supporting the unit's CFR volunteers as well as undertaking hundreds of hours on standby as CFRs themselves.
"It's important to recognise the contribution that CFR volunteers make to their community - providing a vital service in their own neighbourhood which in some cases is quite literally the difference between life and death."
Winners of the Harrow Heroes awards will be announced on October 14.
