People interested in saving money on their bills can sign up to an energy switch scheme this week.

So far 125 people have signed up to the latest round of the Big Energy Switch, organised by Harrow Borough Council.

The London-wide scheme could save some people up to £200 on their gas and electricity bills.

During the coming week the council will be holding a number of sign-up sessions to give people the chance to find out more about the scheme.

The energy switch uses the collective buying power of people from across the capital to force energy prices down.

Energy suppliers are then invited to offer their cheapest tariffs to everyone who has registered.

The first session will take place today from 12pm to 3pm at the Harrow Council Civic Centre, in Station Road.

The next session will take place on Wednesday at Wealdstone Library, in High Road, from 11am to 3pm.

The final session will take place on Thursday at Tesco, in Station Road, from 5pm to 7pm.

All the sessions are free to attend and people need to take their recent or latest copy of their gas and electricity bill to sign up.
