Dance groups have begun rehearsing their moves for a huge community event.

DanceAbility are the latest group confirmed to take part in this year’s Under One Sky, in Byron Park, Christchurch Avenue, Wealdstone.

With rehearsals underway, the routine will include three couples who will be showing off their ballroom and Latin dancing.

The group, some of whom have learning disabilities, will also perform a mix of rumba, samba, jive and cha cha dance, which people can join in with.

Volunteer trustee and co-ordinator for DanceAbility, Laura Phelan, 30, said: “It’s important to show what people with learning disabilities can achieve. Our members work hard to perfect their routines and love performing just like everyone else.

“It’s great for them socially and for their health and wellbeing.”

Under One Sky will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 12pm to 6pm and will include music, dance, parades, sports and a fun fair.
