A PCSO lifted the spirits of a theft victim by getting him a signed rugby shirt.

Officers from Greenhill Safer Neighbourhoods team visited Harrow man Robert Sheridan after the crime earlier this year.

Police sent to offer him reassurance and crime prevention advice noticed the 69-year-old's was feeling depressed after the incident.

During the visit the officers found out Mr Sheridan was a big Saracens fan, and PCSO Diane Harris was able to contact the team to get a rugby shirt signed by all of the players.

This week, members of the Safer Neighbourhoods team visited Mr Sheridan to give him his signed shirt.

Acting Sergeant Jamie Kay said: "This is yet another example of when PCSO Diane Harris has gone the extra mile to help vulnerable victims in the community and improve victim care.

“Also thank you to all at Saracens who donated the signed shirt."

Police are still investigating the theft and no arrests have been made.
