Vintage cars, candy floss and fairground games made up May Day celebrations at a popular country mansion in Harrow.

Hundreds of people flocked to the annual bank holiday event at Headstone Manor, in Pinner View, where the sun shone on a host of activities and games.

Families took a trip back in time with old time entertainment including donkey rides and an Edwardian music hall wagon.

Falconry displays and Morris and maypole dancing made up the more traditional elements of the popular fair, while younger visitors were also encouraged to take ‘selfies’ while locked in the stocks.

Guided tours were offered around the historic manor, which was once owned by Henry VIII, and stalls selling cakes, homemade bread and other refreshments kept families fuelled throughout the afternoon.

A May Day queen was also crowned before a parade around the grounds of the estate.

I've seen Headstone Manor described as many things but never as a 'country mansion'.
