World Aids Day supported in Harrow where HIV infections have been on the rise
World Aids Day is being supported in Harrow where the number of people diagnosed with the infection has risen in recent years.
Infection rates among people living in the borough increased by more than a third between 2007 and 2011.
On World Aids Day, marked today (Monday), Harrow Council is attempting to increase awareness of the disease and encourage more people to get tested.
The local authority recently signed up to the Pan-London HIV Prevention Programme, a move it says signals its commitment to promoting the prevention of HIV infections.
