Councillors have agreed there should be a review of a decision to grant a lease to the Mayor’s chosen charity.
Harrow Borough Council’s call-in committee determined the decision to grant the lease of an authority owned property in Methuen Road, Edgware, to Flash Musicals should be referred back to the cabinet or relative portfolio holder.
The decision to grant the lease of the property was made by the previous cabinet member for major contracts, Councillor Thaya Idaikkadar, on September 16.
Last week members of the Labour and Conservative groups called in the decision and this evening it was upheld by members of the committee.
The committee said there was inadequate consultation with stakeholders prior to the decision, a lack of evidence to base the decision on, it was not proportionate to the desired outcome and there was insignificant consideration of financial advice.
The decision will now be referred back to the cabinet member for property and major contracts or the cabinet.
