Young volunteers taught an MP life-saving skills as part of a free first aid lesson offered to the public.
Harrow West MP Gareth Thomas was taught by Harrow St John Ambulance Cadets Sodha and Krishan Patel during the sessions at St George’s Shopping Centre on Saturday, September 28.
Members of the public got the chance to learn five simple techniques which they can use to save a life in a medical emergency.
Mr Thomas said: “St John Ambulance does incredibly important work, including training people to save lives in the most urgent of circumstances.
“You never know when you’re going to need the skills of someone trained by St John Ambulance and we should all be thankful for the work they do.
“I very much enjoyed meeting the team on Saturday and learning some important life saving skills.”
The day’s event was part of the St John Ambulance’s national campaign Save a Life September to raise awareness of the importance of first aid.
