A community charity shop and its customers waved goodbye to the summer with a Victorian beach day.

The Found charity shop, in Shaftesbury Avenue, South Harrow, hosted the free fun day on Saturday September 28.

People enjoyed free ice cream, live music from a bandstand and end-of-pier games for the whole family.

Manager of the shop Teresa Davenport said: “It was a really great event and we had an awful lot of people come along throughout the day.

“The live music on the bandstand got people interested and people really enjoyed themselves.

“We have been open just over a year now and nearly everything has gone according to plan and this little event was a chance for us to give something to the community which is what we are here for.”

Found was opened last year and aims to provide work opportunities for people in the area as well as to provide support to people in need and build community spirit in South Harrow.

The shop plans to open a small community cafe and support hub over the next year to give people the chance to get advice and help on any issues they may have.
