People came together for coffee morning as part of a national day of action to support a cancer charity.

Harrow Women’s Network raised more than £200 at the coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Saturday.

People enjoyed cakes and hot drinks, and were able to buy plants and decorations to raise money for the charity.

Councillor Sue Anderson, who attended the event with other politicians from the borough, said: "We worked hard to make it a success and it was really worth it.

“Thanks to the generosity of our guests and support from local businesses, particularly Lesley Ann hairdressers and West Harrow Garage, the final amount raised will be well over £200.

“This will help Macmillan Cancer Support carry on its great work for people with cancer and the people who care for them.”
