A student has come up with an innovative idea to make the morning commute to work more enjoyable.
Rebecca Godfrey, who recently graduated from Westminster University’s Harrow Campus in Watford Road, has come up with a mobile phone app encouraging commuters to ditch their usual journey in favour of a scenic alternative.
The graphic design student created ‘The Scenic Route’ software, which invites rat-racers to take on a “more beautiful and active” route suggested by the app.
The designer was this week recognised by the Royal Society of Arts for her unique idea.
Rebecca was given a 12-week internship at web development firm NCR in Dundee as part of the award, as well as being given £4,250.
